In implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and marking the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year, the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Hamid Al-Najdi, and the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Bassem Al-Oqabi, witnessed the Iraqi flag-raising ceremony on the university campus, amidst a distinguished presence of college deans, professors, and students. The ceremony was organized by the Department of Student Activities in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the university. The ceremony began with the raising of the Iraqi flag accompanied by the national anthem, followed by the recitation of Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs of Iraq and the Islamic nation. Afterwards, the President of the University delivered a speech welcoming the university professors, staff, and students on the occasion of the start of the new academic year. The ceremony took place on Sunday, 20/9/2026.
